Wind Energy But Why???

We live in the times where there is a constant demand for energy. The planes we fly in, the trains we travel, the electricity we use...each and everything we do we are using some kind of energy. Basic thing as water coming to your house is pumped up by pumps to bigger water tanks so that it can reach you.
The gas in the nearest gas station to fuel up your car comes in tankers that in itself are driven by fuel (how ironic).

But there is always a question that one day we are going to run out of the fossil fuel that we heavily depend on (Gas). What will we do then? Scientists started looking into alternate ways to generate energy and we have various ways of doing that for example, Geothermal Energy, Hydrogen Energy, Tidal Energy, Wave Energy, Hydroelectric Energy, Biomass Energy.  They are all different ways to create the energy. But one very interesting and different source of energy is Wind Energy. It uses the wind to create energy.

There is a controversy if we should or shouldn't rely on wind energy. Wind energy may sound cheap and nice but, it has a whole lot of drawbacks. I believe wind energy is not at all reliable because wind energy is not always avaliable, few people want wind farms, and most importantly wind energy causes noise pollution. Let me explain my reason more specifically.

Our society counts on a reliable and on-demand supply of electricity. On the other, hand it is impossible to store wind energy like you can store solar energy. For example, we have a calm day and there would be no wind to produce wind energy. In the text "The Wind Energy Trap" it states, "There are some battery-powered storage options, but these are not used everywhere." Which means we won't always be able to use battery-powered storage options everywhere and we won't be able to make up that energy we missed that day.

In addition, I believe wind energy is not at all reliable because few people want wind farms. Farmers think turbines take up a lot of acres of land. Also, you can not put a wind farm anywhere. For example, it stated in the text,"...a hilly area might have trouble catching the wind..."

Furthermore, I believe wind energy is not at all reliable because wind energy causes noise pollution. Wind farms cause so much sound that to please both groups wind farms have to be moved to areas with no people. The noise is made by the sound of the wind. Engineers are trying to find a way to reduce the noise the turbulence makes. The noise sometimes confuses birds to fly right into the turbulence.

So to wrap it up, there is the various alternate source of energy and I for one would not like to depend on The Wind..what do you think?
